NEWPORT FAQs (FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUSTIONS)
When is high
season?
Most
of our properties’ rates increase as of May 1. High season rates
normally decrease after Columbus Day (October). Typically, weekend
rates are higher than weekday rates. Sunday through Thursday are
considered midweek days.
Holidays and Special Event weekends.
Many
of the downtown hotels and all of our inns and bed & breakfasts
require a three night minimum stay during holidays and
special event periods.
These
minimum stay requirements are standard practice for Newport
properties. Rates and minimum stay requirements are set by each
individual property and not by Taylor-Made Reservations.
What are the
Minimum Stay Requirements in season?
None
of our properties will accept a Saturday only stay in season. All
properties have a two-night minimum stay requirement on weekends. Many
properties will not accept a Saturday arrival, even if you plan to
stay two nights. Most properties will not accept a Saturday only stay
until that very weekend, if not that actual Saturday.
High Season Rates.
Weekend
rates in season for downtown Newport hotels rooms and suites range
anywhere from $249 per night to over $700+ per night (plus 12% tax).
Weekend
rates in season for downtown Newport’s Inns and B&Bs with private
bath range from about $175 to $450+ (majority range from $175-250
per night). B&Bs and guest houses with shared baths range from $135
per night and up.
Rates
are often lower at properties in our bordering town of Middletown, and
further north in Portsmouth. |
